# About API v1

Overview of LYPay API v1 ownership, capabilities, access, and authentication requirements.

LYPay API v1 is provided by the **Central Bank of Libya — Fintech and Innovation Unit** for approved participating financial institutions.

## What API v1 covers

* Authentication and credential management
* Funds-transfer initiation and confirmation
* Refund operations
* Debit-side and credit-side transaction enquiries
* Payment details and merchant-reference enquiries
* Institution and transaction-status reference information
* Webhook notifications for asynchronous transaction outcomes

## Authentication model

Most protected operations require **Bearer authentication**. Authentication and webhook requirements should be implemented according to the approved LYPay integration model.
