# Funds Transfers

Funds-transfer initiation and retrieval capability within LYPay API v1.

Funds Transfers is the primary LYPay API v1 payment capability used to create a new transfer and work with the resulting transaction reference.

## Purpose

Use this capability to initiate the payment flow between the relevant debtor and creditor parties.

## Where it fits

1. The institution authenticates.
2. A funds-transfer request is initiated.
3. LYPay returns the transaction identifiers, applicable information, and initial status.
4. The institution continues to the **Confirm** operation.
5. If processing is asynchronous, the final result is delivered through the webhook flow.
