# Payments

LYPay API v1 payment capabilities for funds transfers, confirmations, refunds, enquiries, and transaction details.

The Payments area contains the LYPay API v1 capabilities used to initiate a transfer, confirm it, manage refunds, and perform operational transaction enquiries.

## Payment capabilities

## Typical payment lifecycle

1. **Initiate** the funds transfer.
2. Capture the returned transaction identifiers and initial status.
3. **Confirm** the initiated transaction.
4. Handle the immediate final result or an asynchronous `Processing` result.
5. Receive the final webhook notification when required.
6. Use enquiry and details capabilities for operational support, monitoring, and reconciliation.
7. Use **Refund** when an eligible completed transaction must be refunded.
